We celebrated Manny Jr.’s big first birthday in February. I can’t believe when these pictures were taken my little man was officially a one year old. I’m really late to posting these sweet photos of his big day. He’s 15 going on 16 months, and I wish I could freeze time because this is such a fun age. He’s learning so much everyday, and changing and growing. I’m thankful he’s such a happy baby. He loves clapping for all things that need a little extra celebration, and his new favorite things to do are climbing on the couch, and opening the doors. It’s crazy how he learned to do both of these things in a three day time period. Life’s about to get very interesting since he’s my little sponge picking up on everything.

We celebrated his birthday with a little help from Sesame Street. He loves Sesame Street, and Elmo so it was the perfect theme for his first birthday. I know he probably won’t remember turning one, but he loved seeing all the characters hanging through out the house. So it was so worth it to see his sweet smile. Planning his birthday was a fun new experience since I had never planned a little ones birthday party. Thanks to Party City, Arne’s Party Store, and good friends his birthday came together really well. There was one hiccup that could have been a big hiccup. (Or at least in my head it seemed big.) I usually don’t share negative experiences, but I would hate for anyone to have the same experience. I ordered a personalized shirt and bow tie from the Etsy shop Best Birthday Ever for Manny Jr.’s big day. I emailed them before ordering to make sure they could fill the order, and was told it would be no problem to get the shirt before his birthday. I was excited for him to have a personalized shirt, and thankfully checked on the order. Long story short, they hadn’t even started on his shirt, and wouldn’t consider covering expediting the shipping. So, instead they canceled the order without asking talking to me. I was so upset, and stressed because I planned some of the decor around his shirt. Thank fully a good friend had the perfect connection, and a shirt was made that was so cute!! It had one on the front, and his last name on the back. I loved it!! I’m officially off my soap box about this. Thanks for listening. It felt good to get it off my chest so to speak. My in laws loved his shirt, and bowtie. The party guests had a great time so all in all it was a really fun party for the kids as well as the adults. So it was a success in my book!! If you have any questions about anything about his birthday I’d love to chat. Hope y’all had a great weekend!!XO, Angela

First birthdays only come once, and first birthday invitations only come around once!! This gold foil Minted invitation caught my eye from day one of looking at possible invitations. I loved the clean design, the gold dots, and that it had space for three pictures of the birthday boy. It was really nice that the Minted invitations card stock could be upgraded, and the envelopes interior color could be customized!! (Insert happy dance!!) I loved that because adding a little something extra, and unique is always a plus in my book!! Did I mention that Minted will address the envelopes for you? All I had to do was upload my addresses, and they took care of the rest. This was such a huge time saver for me!! Especially since little man is into anything and everything. If there is a drawer, or cabinet he’s opening it.  Assembling the invitations was super easy too!! I just had to adhere the gold foil to the inside of the envelopes, (Which was super easy!!) put the invitations in the envelopes, and add stamps of course!! It was really mom friendly for all you ladies who are a little short on time!! I had it all done before Manny Jr. was up from his nap. Minted was really great about answering questions in real time!! I of course had a few questions, and they were beyond patient and nice!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and a huge thank you to Minted for sponsoring this post!!!

XO, Angela

Today I’m sharing, baby Manny’s nursery reveal with y’all. When I found out our IVF cycle was successful, I started a secret Pinterest board for his baby room. My husband and I worked on his room together as our first project in our new house. His room was the first room we really wanted to make sure was complete before he was born. In reality, he wouldn’t really use his own room until he was around 3 months. I think that was harder on me than him. While we were deciding how to decorate his room Pinterest was such a great tool. It helped me explain to my husband, and friends what I really wanted in his room. Thankfully my husband and friends were really patient with a very pregnant soon to be momma that wanted everything just right. They were my sounding board for all things baby room related that inspired me. It became an inside joke that the projects that I said we were doing really meant projects he(my husband) was doing.

The elephant theme throughout his room came about while I was watching the news, and they talked about orphaned Elephants and how similar baby Elephants are to us at their age. So I knew I had to incorporate these beautiful animals into my nursery design.  When I was brainstorming color schemes; I knew I wanted his room to feel light, and airy while still throwing in key elements that made it feel like a baby’s room. That’s where the pops of red came from, and the inspiration for the bright color palette in his closet. The Railroad Crossing Lamp was really special to us since my husband works on lightrail system projects. I like that it’s something personal that means a lot to my husband. Reading to him while he was in my tummy was kind of my thing, so I knew his room should have lots of books. Since my husband is originally from Ecuador, we decided it would be perfect to incorporate both English and Spanish speaking books. We joke that Manny jr., and I are going to learn Spanish at the same time. We’re kind of kidding, Thankfully finding bilingual books wasn’t too hard. Choosing which ones was another story. There are so many adorable baby books to choose from. I’m usually not a hands on person in regards to putting furniture together, but I really wanted to help put everything together in the nursery.  Once his room was almost ready, I began nesting and folding his tiny tiny clothes and blankets. It was such a special moment in time getting everything just right for his arrival. I loved nesting, and putting the final touches on his nursery. If you have any questions about anything in his nursery please ask. I love talking nursery design, and all things baby room related. Thanks so much for sharing my little guys nursery with me!! We’re really excited to celebrate our first Father’s Day with little Manny. Hope y’all have a great Father’s Day weekend with family and friends!!!
