Easy How To Guide for Curls…

August 28, 2015

Curls and a braid tutorial hairtutorial1b

It’s no secret that if I could curl my hair all day everyday I would, in fact, I’ve always wanted to get a brazilian wavy hair treatment. Unfortunately my hair wouldn’t be very happy with me if I did that. This has been my go to curly look lately. It’s really easy to do, and great on second day hair.  It’s perfect since my little guy loves to pull my hair. This way he really only has one side that he can really yank on. J/K

Hair products needed for this tutorial

When my hairs damp I put a pea size amount of the Confixor from the middle of my hair down. Then I add one small pump of the It’s a 1o from my pony tail down. A little goes a long way on both of these products.  I blow dry my hair until its dry. Since I’m curling it I don’t do anything fancy when I’m blow drying it other than lift the hair so it doesn’t look stuck to my head.

My hair tangles up really badly, and this wide tooth comb is one of my favorites. This red YS Parker comb has been with me since I use to be a colorist. It’s one of my favorite, and I reorder it whenever it looks too worn. These two clips are some of my favorites.

Hair tools needed for fun side braid

For the fun side braid…smaller rubber bands, and bobby pins.

Hair Tutorial Step 1

Step 1 Combing my hair first is a must!! Otherwise I’m battling tangles left and right!! This isn’t technically a step, but I like to point out the obvious sometimes. Especially since I have baby fine hair. It tangles like no ones business.

Step 2 After you’ve combed your hair and section it off recomb each smaller subsection you’re going to curl.

Step 3 Curl your hair taking it away from your face. After each section is curled, spray it with Air Control from below. It makes a difference. I promise!!

Step 4 Back comb small sections upwards, then spray with Air Control, and repeat that section by section where you want some height and volume.

Lipstick break because curls are fun, and red lipstick is one of my faves!! Lasting Lust has been one of my faves for 5 years!!

Hair Tutorial Step 10

Step 5 Okay back on track!!! Curl the last section in the front. Spray with Air Control, then let your stand for a little bit so it can set. While the hairs setting it’s the perfect time to play peekaboo with my little guy.

Once I finished my braid I like to go back, and tweak the volume with a little extra back combing. Smooth it out, and then add two bobby pins to hold the braid in place.

When we first moved into our new house I was excited to decorate the office, and make it feel like my own space. I’m hoping to expand my office in the future so I’ll probably need to start looking at Commercial Office Cleaning Services in London. I’m already making such a mess in here!! Somewhere between being excited to decorate, and actually doing it I lost my momentum. Then again it also might have something to do with trying to get everything done before my son was born!! Since ‘Back to School’ season is in full swing I’ve seen some of the cutest office decor!! My friend said there were some adorable plants at websites similar to phsgreenleaf.co.uk maybe I should consider adding some of their lovely pieces to my office? So I’m taking a swing at this project again. Thankfully before I lost my momentum I found a desk I love, made a trip to IKEA, and The Container Store to add some cute storage to my side of the office. I’m teaming up with The Container Store to give my readers a 15% discount code with TCSLOVE through August 29th!! I’m sharing some of my inspiration for what I envision adding decor, and organization wise to make my office feel like the best version of me. I’m in love with all of these gorgeous prints, and gold accents. Of course there’s more to a good office than decor. You also need to consider filling it with supplies that will keep you productive like paper, stationary and ink cartridges etc. It might seem obvious but when you’ve paid so much attention to the decor, it’s easy to forget about the small things. You can find a supply of products for your office from officemonster.co.uk. I can’t wait to share more of my office/work space after this project is done!!

Baby Gear For The Beginning

August 24, 2015

Baby Gear Home

Choosing just the right baby gear was so important to me. There is so much out there, and we tried so much!! This is a very edited down list of the things that worked for my family especially in the first few months we were home. These are the items that made life a little easier with our little man when we brought him home. I loved researching and shopping for all the goodies and there are some great guides (similar to this BFM guide) out there for those who are looking for your little ones. If you have any extra questions please message me.

1.This baby tub was a perfect fit for us because I like hot showers. I know that’s an odd random fact, but I was worried I wouldn’t be a good judge of the water temperature for that reason. So this really helped me feel a lot more confident especially at the beginning.

2.At first I wasn’t going to include the Mamaroo bouncer because my little guy only liked it for 2 weeks. I thought I should share it since those first two weeks were really great when he did enjoy it. Every baby is different so this might be a hit for another family.

3.I tried out a lot of strollers at Buy Buy Baby, and the Uppa Baby Vista won hands down!!! I was the pregnant lady walking around their store testing out their strollers. I might have looked a little crazy, but I wanted to make sure I was making the right choice. I love that it can expand to fit two babies, or toddlers tandem style. Oh and it gets better!! They have lots of different attachments for this stroller too which is great because it can grow with us!! By the way I forgot to include my carseat pick when I made this!!! I’m blaming mommy brain. We were deciding between the Nuna Pipa carseat, and the Uppa Baby Mesa. We loved both of them, and it really came down to which one was available since both carseats were hard to get at the time Manny jr. was due. Thankfully the Uppa Baby Mesa was available to buy about a month before our little man was due!!!

4.This bassinet was definitely a splurge item for my family, but I couldn’t resist!!! It could roll wherever I was, and had the prettiest baby bedding. We picked the same bedding that is pictured above. I had a c-section, and I’m really grateful that this bassinet wasn’t too high or low. It was the perfect fit. My son has graduated to his crib, and he seems to really love it.

5.We loved the infant insert for the Momaroo!!! It was so soft, and colorful. He loved looking at all the colors. This is a must if you buy any of the Mamaroo bouncers.

6. Don’t forget to treat yourself. The one thing that helped me out when I had my baby, was sleep. You make the most of every minute you get to close your eyes and rest. I cannot recommend enough buying yourself a good quality king mattress. You will find you have plenty of space in an evening whilst feeding to still relax.
