Graphic Sweatshirt With A Positive Message

Hi, guys I’ve wanted to share this sweatshirt with ya’ll for a few weeks, and it was finally cool enough to wear it this week. It was so nice because the temps were finally taking a break from being in the high 90’s. This sweatshirt is one of my favorites because it’s such a great shade of red, and has such a positive message (Nice Is The New Cool).

I’m changing it up a bit because we’re friends, and something has been on my mind a lot in the last few months. With everything going on around the world finding a little light, and kindness makes my heart happy. I know it seems so simple, but the message on this sweatshirt really touched my heart, and made me think how proud I am to call Houston home, and my kids Houstonians. I am so thankful for the grace, and kindness that Houstonians, and our neighbors have shown each other each other through Hurricane Harvey, and relief effort. They have really come together in a way that I never knew was possible. Seeing the kindness that Houstonians have for each other makes me want to try to live by the message on my sweatshirt. I’m so glad I’m raising my family here, and they are seeing this example of community.

Okay, back to talking style. I hope I didn’t lose ya’ll already. I love that this sweatshirt is super soft, but not crazy thick. It makes it perfect for the fall temps in the south. I kept the accessories very classic with my tried and true double pearl earrings, and triple strand pearl necklace. These double pearl earrings are such a good staple earring to always have. They have a classic feel while still feeling fresh, and new since they have the pearl on the other end as well. What is one of your favorite staple accessories?

Hi, guys sorry I have been quiet this past week. After everything that Houston, and my neighbors have gone through I didn’t have it in me to write about pretty clothes. In reality, I didn’t have wifi or cable so I didn’t really have much choice, but I kind of saw it as a sign that it was time to be silent, and reflect on what my neighbors were going through. We were really lucky, and didn’t have in flooding in our home, but a lot of my friends did. So, I put a pause on my blog, and social media. I did small updates on Instastories so my friends, and family knew my little family and I were okay.

Let’s jump right into this cute black and white outfit. I wore this top a few months ago here, but decided to change it up with these cute white Old Navy jeans. Yep, these are from Old Navy, and they are so much more perfect than I even thought they would be. They come in petite, regular, and tall sizes!! (I was super excited about this!!) I came across these white jeans a few months ago thanks to Amanda and Michelle from The Style Duo. Amanda wore them, and I was like what the what they are from Old Navy. So, I went to get them, and these bad boys were literally sold out for the next 4 or 5 months. Let me tell ya’ll they were totally worth the wait.

This top is hands down one of my favorites. I love the flirty bow detail on the back, and the gingham pattern is totally up my alley too. I have my eye on this top that has a really similar feel to it. Since Houston isn’t going to feel like fall anytime soon I like to pick clothes that have a fall color palette. I really want this cute dress. It’ll be perfect for now, and will be super cute layered with a blanket scarf, and nude booties, or boots. Plus, I love the bow detail, and the ruffle sleeves. I just can’t say no to gingham and ruffle sleeves.

Embroidered Shift Dress

Am I the only one that’s sad it’s not another 4 day week. That was so nice. Two weeks ago, I met my girlfriend, Dawn, for brunch before hitting the Houston Zoo with our kiddos. My son was hilarious. You know how sometimes your kids connect with certain kids right from the start. My son was totally that way with her son, Jadyn. As soon as we got to brunch he was all about doing what ever he was doing. It was seriously the cutest thing.

Now onto this cute embroidered shift dress that I came across thanks to my hubbies co-workers wife, Lauren. Wow that’s a mouthful I could totally not say that perfectly in front of lots of people. That would definitely take a few tries to get out just right. Haha!! We all met up for drinks a few months ago, and I thought she had the cutest dress. I was super suprised it was from Old Navy, and basically ordered it at the table. I love online shopping. It makes everything so accessible. This dress had me as soon as I saw the pretty embroidered flowers on the shift dress.Alrighty, so this dress didn’t come with a belt, but since I’m petite I added a skinny belt. I love it this way because it gives it a defined waist line. This is a must for us petite ladies that might be worried certain dresses will look shapeless on us. Thank you guys so much for stopping by!! I hope everyone had a great weekend!! We went to the pool a lot over the weekend, and got lots of todo’s checked off our todo list. All in all a pretty great weekend. I’m excited to see what this week has in store for my munchkins and I. Wish me luck both my puppies are having their teeth cleaned this morning. For anyone that’s not familar with what that entails it’s pretty major. They have to sedate them, and then I pick them up in the afternoon after the sedation wares off a little bit. Let me tell ya’ll it is not easy getting two kiddos, and two toddlers into the vet at the same time. Thankfully the puppies are the only ones who had appointemnt.
