Good morning! Starting today off a little different on here this morning. I want to start off by first saying my biggest goal will always be for this place called Pretty In Her Pearls to be a place where you see me as a friend, not an influencer. I’m here to help share what I’m loving the same way I would share it with one of my girlfriends. With that being said I value Y’all and your support in making Pretty In Her Pearls possible. I don’t want to let y’all down because you all mean a lot to me.
So what’s next for the blog. I have lots to share so grab a coffee and let’s chat.
One. In the spirit of keeping me accountable, I want to share some goals for my blog and social media. Because if I’m being realistic the two go hand in hand. Consistency is the key for both and I am going to really work hard to try and be consistent with posting on the blog and social media. I know things come up but with planning hopefully, I can manage to stay as consistent as possible. Even if just one person comes to my blog I don’t want to disappoint that one person. So it’s time to buckle down and really make a realistic schedule and stick to it.
Two. Photos are a big deal with blogging and one of my goals is to not be indecisive. I have been really wanting to buy a Lightroom preset for my blogging photos and so that my social media has a more consistent theme across all the feeds. I have had the hardest time deciding on which preset to get. Part of me feels I haven’t found the one. I am starting to think I will never find the one so to speak and need to make a decision. I love the feeds that are crisp, bright, with tones of pink in them. So I think that’s out there. I just need to tweak whatever preset I buy so that it fits into that category for me. This will probably still take me a little while because it’s so hard to choose. My goal is to choose soon and feel good about the decision I make.
Three. Learning some of the backend stuff of blogging is a big goal of mine. I know blogging is more than just pretty photos and cute captions. So I want to learn more about Search Engine Optimization (SEO for short) and how to best optimize my blog. I’m going to put some time into learning what keywords and focus keywords really mean. I’ve read up on it a little but I need to really watch some Youtube videos and some of the educational posts that friends have shared on their blogs.
Four. That gets me to my next goal which is putting myself more out there to ask for help. Sometimes I don’t have the answers and I have to tell myself it’s okay to ask for help. I think my reluctance in asking for help goes all the way back to being a kid with a learning disability and the stigma behind that even in elementary school and being embarrassed to raise my hand when I had a question or didn’t understand something. It’s amazing how those things can have a ripple effect as an adult. So I’m telling myself it’s okay to ask for help and if getting help from someone isn’t possible I can’t take it personally. We all have our own journey to go on.
Five. One really big goal for me in this blogging journey is to stay in my lane so to speak. By that I mean I am not going to compare myself to others. Because really comparison is the thief of all joy. I know my blogging story is different from the person next to me because I’m me. I may not have thousands and thousands of followers or a huge subscribers list and sometimes feel like I’ll never reach those big milestones. There are days where I definitely doubt my ability to achieve all those things but then I remember I am only in competition with myself. The only person I’m racing is me. I sometimes question if I will be to keep up the pace of running a blog, social media, being a wife and mom but I know I love blogging and what it brings to my day to life. So I find a little energy and dig deep to achieve my goals. I know I love what I’m doing because I look forward to it every day. If that’s not finding that something that you’re meant to do I don’t know what is. I mean I put my time, energy, money, and give up sleep so I can learn more about this thing called blogging.
Six. Lastly, I am going to really make an effort to up my skills in the game called sending out collaboration emails. I have to say it always feels a little awkward but it is time to pull the band-aid off so to speak and get to emailing some brands. I definitely question what I’m writing, reread it, then remember don’t be too wordy but be memorable. In my mind I’m how can I be memorable if I’m super concise? I sometimes get too in my head which seriously can be the thief of creativity. Though I do know the collabs I have gotten where I pitched a brand were probably because I got out of my head and just introduced myself and simply stated why I would be a good fit for their brand and why they would be a good fit for the blog.
Alright if you made it all the way to the end you are an angel! I know this is a little longer than my typical post but I had a lot on my mind and these are important goals. Seriously thank you! I just wanna say a little thank you whether you have been here from day one or this is your first time visiting my blog thank you so much! Sometimes accountability can make all the difference in the world. I really do appreciate all of you showing your support and helping me to achieve my goals. So with that being said, I thought this goal digger sweatshirt was the perfect addition to this blog post. I’m not exactly sure if the sweatshirt inspired this post or the post inspired me to get this sweatshirt. This sweatshirt is super soft and lined in fleece on the inside. It is basically perfect. Can’t wait to wear it as the temps get cooler! It’s on sale and sizes are going fast yall!
Have a fabulous weekend!
