NSALE: Beauty

NSALE Beauty Must Haves

Good morning!! Woo hoo it’s Friday!! I’m so excited the weekend is finally here!! Ohh and a big yay that the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is officially open to everyone!! Let the shopping begin, and the funny expressions our husbands give us start. Mine might be the only one that thinks I’m a little crazy, but this is like Christmas in July!! So I planned on doing a NSale fit guide on everything I’ve bought as far as sizing, fit, and if it was really worth it. Unfortunately, none  of my Nordies goodies have made it to me just yet. I’m seriously stalking the UPS man!! (Just kidding kind of.) I’m hopeful they will be here later today, or tomorrow. I can’t wait to try everything on to get an idea of sizing etc. So since shipping is taking a little longer than I had anticipated I wanted to share some of the Nordstrom Anniversary beauty buys that I’m excited to try, and a few that are long time favorites. I’m going to list them all below with a little about the why I’m so excited to try them, and why they are must haves!!

1.Beauty Blender Set ($35)

This is one of my favorite new additions to my makeup routine. I use it for my under eye area, blending in liquid foundation around my nose, and any other area that is super porous. (Aka large pores!!) Ohh and it’s also great for baking your under eye area, chin, nose, and pretty much any where that you might get oily through out the day.

2.Foreo Cleansing Device ($74)

In all fairness, I’ve never tried this, but I’ve heard great things about it. Plus it’s super small and compact. Perfect for people who travel a lot, or don’t have lots of counter space.

3.Living Proof Set  ($45)

This is another product that I’ve ordered, but haven’t actually tried. One of my favorite beauty bloggers Cara from Maskcara did a whole review on this a few months ago, and she had nothing but rave reviews about it. So this is the perfect time to try this product. Plus if it’s good enough for Jennifer Aniston’s hair it’s definitely good enough for little ole me.

4.PMD Personal Microderm Device ($133)

This is something I’ve wanted to try forever, but it was pretty pricey. Thankfully it’s on sale, and you save almost $60!! Which is amazing!!

5.MAC Look In A Box ($40)

This MAC Kit is such a steal, and the colors are gorgeous. MAC products are really pigmented which is really nice. It means that you don’t have to use lots of product because a little goes a long way!!

6.Clarisonic Mia Fit ($153)

I have a regular Clarisonic, and I love it. It’s changed my skincare routine for the better. My skin looks and feels better. Clarisonic’s don’t usually go on sale. Pick this up because it will change your skincare routine!! I promise!!

7.NARS Survival Kit I ($59)

NARS makes some really amazing palettes, and this one doesn’t disappoint. This is perfect for someone who travels, or needs something that is really compact. This is a great deal because one NARS blush usually costs $30, and you’re getting a whole kit.

8.NARS Cheek Palette  ($65)

Love this palette!! It has six colors in it, and one of them is my favorite color, Orgasm!! It’s one of the prettiest blushes. It looks great on almost every skin tone.

9.Neu Lash Brow ($100)

Okay I’ve heard amazing things about this product, but I have to wait to try it because I’m pregnant. I’ve heard mixed reviews if it’s safe to use while pregnant and breast feeding. So this is one I can’t wait to try at some point. So for all the people with sparse eye brows this is your new bff from what I’ve heard.

10.Bobbi Brown Pink Lip Set ($50)

Bobbi Brown makes the most amazing lip pencils, lipsticks, and glosses. Seriously the lip pencils are creamy, and go on like butter. And the lipsticks have really great staying power. Basically I love the Bobbi Brown Lip Set!!

11.Anastasia Brow Set ($36)

Anastasia products are pretty much amazing in my book. I’ve tried the Anastasia Beauty Express Kit, and loved it. So I’m pretty excited to try this!! I’m actually going to stop by Nordstrom to get a little tutoring on how to use this new set. I love learning from the best!!

12.Neu Lash Serum ($150)

This is a beauty product I can’t wait to try. I’ve heard amazing things from other bloggers whose eye lashes are seriously gorgeous, and so enviable. At this point, I can’t try it since I’m pregnant, but sometime after November I am going to try this out!! I’ve heard mixed reviews if it’s safe to use while pregnant so I’m going to wait!! Long lashes can wait.

Thank you all so much for stopping by, and I hope y’all have a great weekend!!

XO, Angela

Products I love & Products I Can’t Wait To Try…

June 10, 2016

Good morning!! I’m starting todays post a little different than I usually do. I thought it would be fun to share what I’ve used and loved, and what I’m excited to try. I love watching bloggers and YouTubers on the rare occasion I have a little me time. Seriously it’s one of my favorite things to do once my son is down for the night. I usually add a little strawberry ice cream, and sprinkles into the mix. Something about the sprinkles makes it feel a wee bit fancier. Am I right?

Okay back on topic. I’ve linked everything that’s fairly new that I love, and everything that I’m excited to try. I’m by no means a makeup artist I just enjoy playing. I like to think that some people like to paint, and others like to play with makeup. A lot of the Roy G Biv rules still apply. (Color Wheel reference woo hoo!!) This has been one of my hobbies since I was a little girl. Thank goodness for a patient mom, sisters, aunts, grandmothers that would let me play beauty parlor/makeup artist on them. If y’all have any questions about the products I’m talking about please let me know. I would love to know what your favorite products are too!! Hope y’all have a great weekend!!

XO, AngelaNew Essie and Jergens products I can't wait to try1.Jergens Natural Glow

I’ve used this for a long time, and it works. It does take a few weeks before you really see a lot of color so if you need something more immediate try Jergens Instant Sun. I think it firms, or at least I’d like to think it’s trying to help me firm my thighs.

2.Essie Gel Setter Top Coat

I haven’t tried this yet, but I’m going to start testing it out this week. I’ll do an update in a few weeks as to whether it’s worth it. I really hope it is because I love having my nails painted, and it comes off so easily with bath time, dishes, and all around life as a mommy and wife. Ohh and this comes as a trio as well. I’ll link it below with the Essie Gel Setter Top Coat, and certain Essie colors for $15 instead of $10 for just the Essie Gel Setter Top Coat!! Hooray for deals!!

3.Essie Art Deco

4.Essie Big Spender

5.Essie Topless & Barefoot

All three of the Essie colors make me excited to paint my nails. I love the colors, how they go on, and that it doesn’t take 4 coats for my nails to look pretty. What’s your favorite Essie color?

Must have Beauty and ones I can't wait to try

1.Cosmedix Purity Solution c/o

I’m really excited to try this because I keep hearing amazing things about cleansing oils. So this is something I am beginning next week!! Wish me luck!

2.Tula Illuminating Face Serum c/o

3.Tula Hydrating Day and Night Cream c/o

A few blogger friends I know that have gorgeous skin love the Tula line so I’m really excited to try both of these products. They do have a trial size of a four of the skin care products you can try for $49. I think that’s probably what I would do if I didn’t already have these.

4.Beauty Blender

Okay I am beyond excited to try this!! One of my favorite bloggers Emily Gemma from The Sweetest Thing used this in a summer makeup tutorial, as well as Jacyln Hill whose a makeup artist an YouTuber. Her stuff is Amazing!! Check both of them out when you have a chance. Do you have any favorite beauty bloggers or YouTubers? Ohh and I’ll have a review on this Beauty Blender up in the next few weeks.

5.Rose Tea Cream

This is such a pretty color that the tube doesn’t do it justice. It’s prettier on than in the tube.

6.Inspired Mauve

I love that this gloss isn’t too sticky, and it looks so pretty on top of a lipstick color, or by itself. It’s on sale right now!! Perfect time to pick it up.

7.Pure Color Envy

I haven’t played with this palette very much, but I love the colors. They go on really pretty, and look perfect for summer. Lots of pretty brown bronzy colors.

8.Biore Charcoal Pore Strips

These are one of my favorite things to do with my husband after we tuck my son in. They are so fun. It’s like a science experiment. Plus I’m not patient enough waiting on my own for them to dry before peeling them off. It’s also, something fun to do that’s good for our skin.

Makeup I love, and Makeup I can't wait to try

1.Hello Lash Extensions c/o

I’m definitely not someone whose blessed with long lashes so this product is the next best thing. I’ve been using it for a little over a week, and so far I love it!!!

2. Double Wear All Day Glow

This is great for those days where you don’t want a full face of makeup, but still want to look like you have a glow. I like wearing this with maybe my brows done, and mascara. That way I feel more like me while trying to handle the Houston heat and humidity.

3.Advanced Night Repair

I received this as a gift with purchase, and so far I love it!! I’m trying to be better about applying creams at night. I love the smell, and texture of this one. It’s not too oily. So far I’m big fan!!

4.Double Wear

This was another product I wanted to try because a few different bloggers suggested it, and I was in the market for new foundation. So far I love it. It actually stays in place, and is easy to apply. What I also love is that Double Wear is versatile makeup with lots of supporting products. If you think the foundation is amazing, you’ll probably love the other products just as much!

5.No Tug Waterproof c/o

It’s a gel eyeliner in a pencil first off which I think is super cool!! I haven’t tried it yet because I haven’t worn makeup most of the week. It’s been really nice to give my skin a break. I did put my brows and mascara on though. I wouldn’t feel like me without those. Hehe!!

6.Kendra Scott c/o (similar)

I couldn’t find the exact ones, but I linked a really pretty pair. Hope you like them as much as I do. I think they will have to be added to my collection soon.

My Experience with Lash Extensions and False Lashes

May 9, 2016

Bridal Look with Lash extensionsBridal Look with Lash extensionsLash extensions are really popular right now. So I thought this was the perfect time to share my thoughts on lash extensions verses false lashes. I’m a fan of anything that gives my lashes extra length and thickness, but I thought it was important to share my experience with lash extensions and false lashes. So you can make your own decisions on which type is right for you. I had lash extensions for my wedding, and then a little over 2 years ago again. Both times I loved the result. Hello my lashes were long and full!! Not a bad end result, but the initial visit takes around 3 hours. It’s definitely time consuming, but it’s a detail oriented project since they are attaching individual lashes to each of your lashes. Now if you are like me, and just don’t have that kind of free time anymore false lashes are a great alternative. They range from $5 t0 $30 a pair. The pricier ones can usually be worn twice. If it’s hard at first to attach them it will get easier. I use Duo glue when I apply false lashes. I’ll share a few of my favorite false lashes below. Okay back on lash extensions.

  • The initial lash extension visit takes around 3 hours.
  • No showering 24 hours after the initial lash extension visit, or lash fillins.
  • Lash fillins are needed about every 3 to 4 weeks depending on how quickly your lashes shed. This appointment is usually around 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Hot showers can break down the glues bond on the lash extensions. I suggest picking one, or the other.
  • Products that contain oil are a no no because they can break down the glues adhesive bond.
  • Mascara should be used sparingly only on the tips of lashes when needed. This can break the lash bond down.
  • Anything that is cotton you’ll want to keep away from the eye area. It’s crazy how much one piece can get into your lashes.
  • The lash wand is your best friend to keep your lashes combed and curled. It is basically a mascara wand with no mascara on it.
  • Washing your face now means keeping the water and soap away from your eyes.
  • So I wear a little eye mask when I sleep. This is a no no with lash extensions, but if you get black out shades then you’re good. I’m only slightly kidding. This momma loves her sleep.
  • If your eyes are super sensitive, I’d try it, but just be aware it might be hard for you to adjust at first.
  • I attached two photos with the lash extensions. I love the result, but time isn’t something I have a lot of right now. So maybe I’ll try these later on again.
  • Lash extensions make you look like you have eye makeup already on. So that was a huge plus!!
  • False lashes at first might take 30 minutes to apply, but it is so worth the extra time. Before you know it you’ll be a pro.
  • Duo Glue is hands down my favorite lash glue.
  • Youtube videos are great for showing you how to apply false lashes!!

What was your experience with lash extensions? I know we are all different, and so I would love to know what y’all think. Thanks so much for stopping by!! Hope y’all had a fabulous weekend spoiling your mommas!!!

XO, Angela
