I could not be more excited the weekend is almost here. I’m so ready for some quality time with my hubby and kiddos. I think we’re going Halloween costume shopping for the kiddos. If you live in the Houston area and have any suggestions please share. I have been on a major search for some cute costumes.

Last weekend I wore this outfit, and it totally made me nostalgic for my middle school years wearing flannel shirts tied around my waist. (I’m totally dating myself. Hehe!!) Y’all have heard me rave about this T-Shirt a few dozen times, but I really love it. It is the perfect length. It literally covers just the right area of the bum. This plaid top is one of my favorites. It’s from last season, but I’ll link some really cute plaid tops below. This was definitely one of my favorites. It makes layering in the fall so much easier, and really adds another layer with lots of really cute options. Don’t Y’all love all the cute styles from the 90’s that are coming back?

Hi, guys I’ve wanted to share this sweatshirt with ya’ll for a few weeks, and it was finally cool enough to wear it this week. It was so nice because the temps were finally taking a break from being in the high 90’s. This sweatshirt is one of my favorites because it’s such a great shade of red, and has such a positive message (Nice Is The New Cool).

I’m changing it up a bit because we’re friends, and something has been on my mind a lot in the last few months. With everything going on around the world finding a little light, and kindness makes my heart happy. I know it seems so simple, but the message on this sweatshirt really touched my heart, and made me think how proud I am to call Houston home, and my kids Houstonians. I am so thankful for the grace, and kindness that Houstonians, and our neighbors have shown each other each other through Hurricane Harvey, and relief effort. They have really come together in a way that I never knew was possible. Seeing the kindness that Houstonians have for each other makes me want to try to live by the message on my sweatshirt. I’m so glad I’m raising my family here, and they are seeing this example of community.

Okay, back to talking style. I hope I didn’t lose ya’ll already. I love that this sweatshirt is super soft, but not crazy thick. It makes it perfect for the fall temps in the south. I kept the accessories very classic with my tried and true double pearl earrings, and triple strand pearl necklace. These double pearl earrings are such a good staple earring to always have. They have a classic feel while still feeling fresh, and new since they have the pearl on the other end as well. What is one of your favorite staple accessories?

3 Shopping Tips Every Girl Should Ask

This month, I’ve been asking myself three questions before I go shopping. The three questions are can I wear it for mom duty, lunch with the girls/blogger gals, and can it be dressed up. These are literally the three things that I think when I’m shopping. Of course if you’re not a SAHM then adjust the mom duty criteria to something like can I wear it to work, or on the weekends. Depending on how dressy your office is the can I wear it to wear question might need to just be can I wear it on the weekends, or in my free time. So, there are of course exceptions to the rule because there are certain pieces you just have to have for a special occassion like an anniversary, wedding, holiday party, or a special occasion date night.

My advice when shopping with those three questions in mind is take lots of different options into the fitting room, and literally ask yourself those three questions. I’ll list them below as well. You will be amazed how much it will help you really buy pieces you’ll love, and actually wear. I always try to remember to ask myself those questions so I don’t have buyers remorse, or  buy clothes that don’t fit my day to day lifestyle. My other tip is if you like something that’s expensive, but there’s a less expensive version that’s just not quite as great go for the more expensive version. Otherwise, you’ll be forever comparing, and wishing you had gotten the more expensive item in the first place. Just remember to wear it, and then you’ll get your return on investment (ROI).That’s the only finance term I know, and I use it whenever I’m debating on a splurge item.

Thanks so much for reading, and if ya’ll have any questions about todays post please ask away. Happy to help.  I hope ya’ll have a great weekend!!
