With another year down I wanted to recap some of my favorite outfits and big mommy moments. Being a mom of two was a major adjustment at first, but now I feel like I have a hang of it. I’m so glad I learned to give myself some grace. It was hard to realize it’s okay for things to not be exactly how I think they need to be. Adjusting in that regard made a huge difference and gave me some mom life me life balance back.
This year was full of amazing moments seeing my babies grow and become little people. My son has amazed me at how he’s adjusted to having a little sister. He is forever trying to give her hugs. She usually has her fill of hugs before he’s done giving her hugs. He’s not too thrilled about sharing his toys, but he’s learning to share a little more each day. Of course, we have moments where Pookie and Sofia pull hair or push each other. Those aren’t my favorite days, but we all learn patience from those days. Maybe one day I’ll be able to get one of those lovely Panerai watches, my friend bought one recently from WatchShopping (https://www.watchshopping.com/panerai/) and she is so happy with her purchase. It really boosts all of her outfits and goes with so much!
After a lot of trial and error, and reading articles from image consultants like Erin from betterstyled.com on what types of clothes fit my ‘mom’ body best, I fianlly feel comfortable wearing stylish clothing. So here are my favorite moments from 2017. It was so hard to choose, but I wanted to narrow it down so this post wasn’t as long as War And Peace. (I’m half joking!!)

This is one of my favorite outfits. I love that it’s off the shoulder but still has long sleeves for those chilly days. I wore this to brunch at the cutest restaurant in Houston called Eloise Nichols. I was so nervous because I was meeting new bloggers but they were all so nice.

In 2016 we had became a family of four and thankfully by 2017 I learned the amazingness of the BabyBjorn and the soccer ball. It wears my munchkin out and he looks so darn cute while running all over the place.

Last year I embraced the planner. I may have tried out three different planners throughout the year. I have the hardest time committing to just one planner. Like I love all my planners for different reasons. The Erin Condren one has a dry erase area that is super helpful for brainstorming. The Simplified Planner is amazing too and has areas for literally everything including things I would never think of.

In the spring we spent a lot of time at Levy Park. It’s this amazing park in Houston that is centered all around fun activities for the kids.

This dress is hands down one of my most favorites. It’s gingham and has ruffles in all the right areas.

This year my little man went from an infant car seat to a big boy car seat. As any good momma, I had to take probably a thousand pictures celebrating the big moment. What celebration would be complete without a trip to the park? This is the year my little guy conquered the slide and lots of climbing.

This is one of those tops I will wear again and again because it’s that good. I wore it for crepes with the girls. They were amazing by the way. If you haven’t tried them try them soon. I had mine with Nutella and strawberries and they were simply amazing.

I did a whole post about why I wore this sweatshirt, and why I’m proud to call Houston home. It’s linked to my outfit post above. Let’s just say in the political climate this sweatshirt spoke to me. It’s such a simple but fundamental message.

This was the first time I took Sofia out for a girls date with one of the nicest bloggers. We met her at this place called Common Bond Cafe. The lattes were amazing and the customer service was amazing. I was so impressed that the actual owner helped me with the door when I was struggling with the stroller and the door. It was so cool to have our first mommy and me date here.

Every time I wear this top I think of the first time I took my babies shopping with just me for the NSale. I was so proud of my little Pookie staying in the dressing room with me and playing with his trucks. I always try to bring him lots of toys. I probably look like a crazy momma that overpacked, but it’s worth it when you have options.

Basics are such a good investment. These are all basics that I’ve had for such a long time. I put them together and was like why haven’t I worn this together before? It’s one of my favorites now.

One of my most favorite sweaters is this statement sweater with pearls. It comes in two more colors and I really want them too. This is from one of my mommy and me outings with Sofi and some of my favorite blogger mommas.

Y’all this top gives me total heart eyes. It’s pink and super budget friendly, and if you click on the outfit details link you’ll see my Sofi girl when she was around 6 months old. She is the cutest little baby girl. I might be a little biased. Hehe!!
