Peplums are absolutely one of my favorites, and this one has been in high rotation. I love the eyelet detail, and the zipper detail. Sorry it’s not able to be viewed in the picture. It was a little chillier than I thought it was going to be yesterday. It was the perfect excuse for a hot coffee though after taking blog pictures. Hooray!!! It’s the little things!! This is not the poncho from back in the 90’s!! These ponchos come in beautiful soft fabrics with equally beautiful designs, and cuts. They aren’t shapeless!! Which is really important, or I wouldn’t be able to pull this off. So all the petite ladies don’t have to shy away from this fun trend. As you all know, I’m 5’0 so the ponchos of the 90’s wouldn’t do my figure any favors!! Thankfully the ponchos from Shopzyania are cut very nicely, and don’t fit at all like a potato sack!! (Definitely not the look I want!!) I’m always cold, and I’m loving that this changes up the siloutte from the usual cardigan. This ponchos color, and cut adds a fun layer  to the outfit!! Finding pieces like this is how I survive the fall, winter months in Houston because one moment it’s hot and the next it’s not!! I added, a skinny corduroy pant rather than skinny denim jean because I wanted some added texture.  These Old Navy Rockstar cords are a steal, and fit very similar to some of the pricier cords I have in my closet. The Biscuit Wall was on my bucket list of walls that I wanted to take pictures in front of. Last week, we had a family day that was in the same area of Houston as this colorful wall. So you know I had to take photos in front of it!! Timing was on my side because right after we were finished the skies opened, and it rained Friday afternoon into the weekend!! I’m not talking a drizzle here or there, but rain that turned into flooding.

This shirt dress is one of my oldie but goodies. These dresses are one of my favorites to wear when I am out with baby Manny because they are stylish, and functional. Some of my dresses have been dangerously close to having a wardrobe malfunction Janet Jackson style because my little guy loves to pull. I’ve worn this dress while I was pregnant here, and not pregnant of course with a skinny belt here. Adding a belt to this dress is crucial for my petite frame. Otherwise I end up looking a little shapeless, lose my waist, and then the proportions are all off. Skinny belts helps with this without taking the eye from the whole outfit.
